I started building stonework in East Sussex in 2013. Initially, knapping flint and working with lime mortar. Soft red brick works well as a material with flint and is used locally to frame flintwork. I enjoyed the opportunity to travel with work and was drawn by the adventure of walling in different regions.

Travelling with work also gave me opportunities to work with different materials such as sandstone, basalt and granite. And work with various experts within the craft.

In 2020 I moved to the east coast of Scotland and set up Mason Works Walling. We've been trading for 5 years now and have been lucky enough to work across various regions within the UK. The team has grown and operates as a team of two across Aberdeenshire and Scotland (We are open to work further afield). We build traditional dry stone walls as well as lay stonework in lime mortar and continue to strive to put a little heart and soul in to every job we do.
Granite steps trapped, retaining dry stone walls covering each tread and curved to meet the original structure.
Sandstone dry stone wall. Built dry with a subtle curve going uphill with level coursing. Finished with a wooden gate matching in height.
Boundary wall rebuild due to tree root damage. The original stone was reclaimed from the original damaged structure and laid in lime mortar.
